Yoga trek # day 5

This morning the Fishtail is just stunning under the first rays of the morning light. Although we move every day from place to place and the landscapes change every day, the Fishtail (or Machhapuchhre) is always with us. It’s so nice to have this giant friend following our every day moves.

Today, we walk amongst the colorful green and crimson rhododendrons. From time to time, the path is covered with crimson petals. Not so hard to understand why this is the national color (did you know Nepal had a national color?). All along the way, while looking at the mountains, we can see red dots on the green/brown/grey/withe landscape.

It’s such a pleasure to see those colors!

Gling, giling, giling…

No, it’s not a cow hidden in the trees (although it happens sometimes along the way). But today the music is more powerful, tens of bells are ringing all together : the donkeys are coming.

One after the other, with their sure slow pace, all loaded with goods for the upper villages, the donkeys are passing us as if we didn’t exist. They know the way. So we stop to let them pass and enjoy the music and the nice colors.

Tonight, the diner is one of our funniest : we are the last ones to arrive in the small dinning hall so we have to sit right on the middle of the big table with a group of 6 Littuano-Russians on one side and a group of 8 young French on the other side. Since the table is too large for Anna and I to talk together, we start talking with our neighbors and end up doing a giant “As all” card game. That’s one of the pleasures of those guesthouses : you meet different people every night and Anna and I enjoy discussing with new people, learn about their adventures and then share what we learned while we walk the next day.
